Unsworth future hangs in balance
David Unsworth
Unsworth has been an ever-present since joining Ipswich on loan
Ipswich will lose on-loan David Unsworth if they miss out on automatic promotion and go into the play-offs.

The Portsmouth defender sees his stint at Portman Road end on 8 May, the day of Ipswich's final game of the season.

That will bring the 31-year-old's loan spell to 93 days - the maximum allowed under Football League rules.

Ipswich boss Joe Royle said he wanted to keep Unsworth but admitted the club was not in a position to make the defender's move permanent.

"If we were certain of playing in the Premiership next season it might be a different story," he said.

"But we are not in a position to make signings when we don't know where we are going to be playing next season."
