Unsworth agrees Ipswich loan move
David Unsworth
Unsworth joined Pompey from Everton in the summer
Ipswich boss Joe Royle has revealed that Portsmouth defender David Unsworth will join the Championship leaders on loan for the rest of the season.

The 31-year-old, who was at Everton when Royle was manager at Goodison Park, will join Town next week.

Royle said: "Our chairman is completing the paperwork, but the player has agreed to sign for us and Portsmouth are also happy to go ahead.

"David will be available for our match at Sheffield United on Saturday week."

The move bolsters Town's hopes of returning to the Premiership after a three-season absence.

Royle added: "He is an experienced player and will give us more defensive strength for the final 16 games of the season.

"Left-back is where David is set to play, but he can also do a great job for us as a central defender."
