Royle denies mass exodus
Chris Makin
Makin decides to leave Portman Road
Ipswich have parted company with full-back Chris Makin but manager Joe Royle has dismissed talk of a mass exodus.

Makin, 31, suggested he would stay but becomes the seventh senior player to leave Portman Road in the close season.

Marcus Bent, Jermaine Wright, John McGreal, Martijn Reuser, Alun Armstrong and Chris Bart-Williams have all left.

But Royle said: "It is not an exodus. I wanted to keep John and Jermaine, and I was disappointed that they both decided to move on."

He added: "But Jason De Vos has come in to replace John, while I have already said Jermaine will be replaced," added Royle.
