Ipswich Town have completed the signing of defender Jason de Vos from Division One rivals Wigan in a three-year deal.
De Vos joins the Tractor Boys on a free transfer after his contract at the JJB Stadium ended this summer.
"I'm delighted Jason decided to join us. He is a strong, outstanding centre-half who will keep our goals against to a minimum," said boss Joe Royle.
"He's also a threat from set-pieces and it's a strong statement of intent from this club," he told Ipswich's website.
Royle added: "We are not satisfied with fifth place in the table and we will be going all out to finish in the top two next season."
