Ipswich have completed the loan signing of Charlton midfielder Chris Bart-Williams.
Bart-Williams has had limited opportunities at Charlton
A deal has been agreed between the clubs for the 29-year-old to move on an initial one-month loan deal.
Bart-Williams' proposed move follows the three-month loan of Blackburn's Alan Mahon earlier in the week.
Tommy Williams' knee injury has left Ipswich thin for cover in the centre of midfield.
Bart-Williams, 29, has been capped at Under-21 level by England, but has been out of the picture at The Valley, making just seven Premiership appearances last season.
After starting his career at Leyton Orient, Bart-William moved to Sheffield Wednesday and then to Nottingham Forest.
Ipswich boss Royle said: "Chris is a big, strong midfielder and the type of player we need at the moment.
"We had a look at him in Charlton reserves to make sure he was fit and he looked good."
Bart-Williams said: "This is a really good move for me.
"I want my football to do the talking for me."
"I'm feeling really fit and sharp. I've played against
Ipswich many times and know they have a reputation for good football.
