Ipswich sign French winger
George Burley, Ipswich manager
Le Pen will go straight into Burley's squad
Ipswich have signed 27-year-old winger Ulrich Le Pen from French side FC Lorient.

The Premiership side have not disclosed the fee, but it is believed to be in the region of 1.4m.

Le Pen has signed a four-year contract that will keep him at Portman Road until June 2005.

He told the official Ipswich website: "I am very pleased to be here at Ipswich.

"It is the highlight of my career to come to the Premiership and it will be a good challenge here."

Le Pen will train with his new team-mates for the first time on Thursday and will go straight into Ipswich's squad for Sunday's Premiership match against Bolton.
