Hartlepool hotshot signs for Ipswich
Tommy Miller
Miller could not pass up a move to the Premiership
Ipswich have tapped the third division to snap up Hartlepool midfielder Tommy Miller.

The 21-year-old has joined the Premiership side for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of 750,000, payable over two years.

Miller had attracted interest from Coventry and Crewe but decided to rejoin the club who released him as a 15-year-old apprentice.

Miller finished as Hartlepool's top scorer last season with 20 league goals and is the latest acquisition in Ipswich's policy of uncovering up-and-coming talent.

Hartlepool manager Chris Turner said: "We did everything we could to keep Tommy by offering him an excellent deal to stay beyond the end of his current contract.

"However, he feels it is time to move on to another club and play at a higher level and you can't blame him wanting to fulfil his ambition."
