Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager Terry Butcher has signed three of his current squad on extended contracts.

Richie Foran and Lee Cox have agreed two-year extensions and Eric Odhiambo has signed on for another year.

The Highland side, who secured their return to the Scottish Premier League last week, now have six players signed up for next season.

"We're very pleased that they are going to be part of next year," Butcher told BBC Scotland.

"We've got such a core of players here and we want to keep that core and make sure we go into the SPL as intact as possible.

"But they are the first three we've managed to tie up since securing the First Division title. We're obviously talking to a lot of others as well to try and ensure we get more onboard.

"It's a busy time and it's a wonderful time because the atmosphere around the club is fantastic.

"The atmosphere around the city of Inverness is just immense - wonderful!

"Everywhere you go, people congratulate you - they feel it as well - they know we're back in the big time.

"Hopefully, a lot of money and people will come to the city next year as well and obviously, with the TV and the radio coverage, we'll be more involved."

Butcher is also keen to secure the signature of winger Johnny Hayes, who has impressed in the First Division.

He is a player the Caley Thistle manager believes will shine in the top flight.

"We want to re-sign him, there is no doubt about that, " stressed Butcher.

"He could take the SPL by storm next year, although he's been watched by a lot of SPL club managers recently anyway.

"It's exciting. When you've got everybody who wants to be here next year and be part of it and be together, that does bode well for the future."

Forward Foran, who has scored 16 goals during Caley Thistle's successful campaign, revealed that rival clubs had shown interest.

"The last few months, I couldn't see myself going anywhere else," he said.

"There were a couple of other clubs interested, but I more or less knocked them back. I told my agent to turn them away I didn't really want to speak to them because I had my heart set on this club.

"It's a place I've fallen in love with and I look forward to the next two years now."

Adam Rooney, Russell Duncan and Grant Munro have already pledged their future to the club.
