Foran will be praying for a quick return to the Scottish Premier League
Inverness Caledonian Thistle say they fought off competition from other clubs to retain forward Richie Foran - one of three players to re-sign for the club.
The versatile David Proctor and defender Lionel Djebi Zadi will also stay with the First Division outfit.
Manager Terry Butcher told the club website: "I was concerned as Richie had other offers.
"But he enjoyed his time at Inverness and having him for the full campaign is an excellent pre-season tonic."
Butcher had this week lost the services of midfielder Brian Kerr, who rejected a new contract and instead joined big-spending First Division rivals Dundee.
But he was pleased to hold on to three of the out-of-contract players who suffered relegation on the final day of the Scottish Premier League season.
Foran, 29, who had spells with Carlisle, Oxford and Motherwell, was with Southend United until joining Inverness in January after Butcher succeeded Craig Brewster as manager.
Like Foran, the 25-year-old Proctor has signed a new one-year contract and will be hoping to repeat his feat of winning promotion with Caley Thistle in 2004.
Djebi Zadi, 27, previously of Ross County and SC Verl, became a regular at left-back soon after Butcher arrived at the club.
Filipe Morais, Roy McBain and Eric Odhiambo were also offered new contracts by Inverness at the end of the season.
