Brewster calls for good response

Inverness manager Craig Brewster is demanding a positive reaction from his players against Hibs on Saturday, following their 5-0 humbling at Ibrox.

"We have not been getting the results so obviously criticism follows," he told the club website.

"Every game in this league is tough but it's up to us to roll the sleeves up and that's what we must do at Hibs.

"Everyone was down after Saturday but the boys are desperate to show that the Rangers game was a one off."

The heavy defeat at Ibrox extended the Highlanders' losing streak to five matches and just one point separates them from the SPL's bottom side Hamilton Accies.

Caley Thistle shipped all five goals in the first half as Rangers striker Kris Boyd helped himself to a hat-trick inside 28 minutes.

"That was Rangers in full flight but, looking at the highlights, we made it easy for them," added Brewster.

"We had easy possession in the middle of the park for a couple of the goals we gave away. Two passes later from Rangers and we have lost a goal.

"We must take the criticism on the chin when we don't do well because we take the plaudits when things go well.

"I feel we have been unlucky in recent weeks. We lost a goal to Motherwell which was never a free kick, we go out of the cup because of an offside goal and a penalty decision not given.

"On Saturday we lost the first goal to a debatable free kick. We just hope these things even themselves out over the course of the season.

"That game has gone now and we must move on and quickly because we have another very difficult game coming up."

Inverness can boast a good home record against Hibs but have lost on their last four visits to Easter Road.
