Inverness Caledonian Thistle head coach Charlie Christie says that Richie Hart will travel to the club's pre-season training camp in Italy.
The midfielder was at the centre of recent drugs allegations at the Rock Ness Festival.
Christie told BBC Scotland: "I've spoken to Richard and his agent about the allegations to get his side of the story and I am satisfied with that.
"So until we hear from the authorities we will believe him at this stage."
Hart had been detained by police in connection with an illegal substance but was not arrested or charged.
Northern Constabulary have so far declined to comment on the matter, but it is understood the player was spoken to after a substance was recovered.
The police were to analyse the substance.
However, it could take months before the police probe determines whether the player will be charged and Caley Thistle are making their own enquiries in the meantime.
Meantime, Inverness director of football Graeme Bennett has been quoted in the press as saying that he would like to secure Christie's services on an extended contract before the start of the season.
