Brewster aims for Inverness stay
Inverness player-boss Craig Brewster
Brewster has 18 months to run on his contract
Inverness player-manager Craig Brewster has assured fans he has no intention of leaving the club any time soon.

The 38-year-old will celebrate a year in charge of the Highlanders on Friday but has been linked with a possible move to Dundee United.

"I believe it is important for any manager to show their club some loyalty," said Brewster.

"Even more so in my case as this is my first job in which I need to garner a sound footing in management."

Brewster has 18 months to go on the two-and-a-half year contract he signed with Caley Thistle

"I have just bought a house up here, so I am pretty settled now and delighted with the current situation at the club," added the veteran striker.

I am just looking to keep moving the club forward and continuing to develop as a manager

"Because I am from Dundee and played at United, people start speculating and suddenly Craig Brewster is linked with Dundee United.

"I had only been at Inverness for six months when Ian McCall left the club, yet, at that stage, some were already saying I was going to take over at Tannadice."

Brewster came close to guiding Inverness to a top-six finish in the SPL last season and the team have made a solid start to this campaign.

"To go from a player to a manger can be a daunting experience initially as you are the one who is calling the shots," he continued.

"But I have increased in confidence as time has gone by and, along with the players, I have definitely progressed since my first game in charge.

"My goal when I took over was simply to keep Inverness in the SPL and it was pretty remarkable we got so close to securing a top-six finish.

"Now I am just looking to keep moving the club forward and continuing to develop as a manager."
