Manchester United's Northern Ireland midfielder Corry Evans has joined Hull City on an initial six-month loan deal with a view to a permanent deal.

The 20-year-old, who is yet to make his full debut for United, hopes to gain first team experience with the Tigers, who sit 15th in the Championship.

Ex-United reserve team captain Evans has won seven caps for his country.

He joined Carlisle United on an emergency loan in October but was hampered by injury.

Evans made his first appearance in United colours on the club's North American tour last July.

He has been involved with the Northern Ireland senior squad in recent months, scoring the winning goal against Slovenia in a Euro 2012 qualifying game in September.

Evans' elder brother Jonny left Old Trafford in a similar loan deal to play in the Championship with Sunderland earlier in his career.

Assem and Ehab Allam recently completed their £40m takeover of Hull and are now keen to improve the squad with young talent.
