Long-serving defender Andy Dawson has agreed a one-year contract extension with Championship side Hull City.

The 32-year-old, who was signed from Scunthorpe United in 2003, will now be tied down until 2012 which should earn him a testimonial game.

Dawson has played in all four English divisions for the Tigers since being signed by former manager Peter Taylor.

Youngsters Mark Cullen and Tom Cairney have also signed new deals, until 2013 and 2014 respectively.

Meanwhile, Tigers boss Nigel Pearson has confirmed he is keeping an eye on Manchester United's 21-year-old defender James Chester, who has been on loan at Carlisle United this season.
