Hull City have signed free agent Liam Rosenior until January 2011.

The 26-year-old, who left Reading in the summer, played for Hull reserves in the win over Scunthorpe on Wednesday.

Hull boss Nigel Pearson said: "It was nice to get a look at him in the reserves, and he did pretty well to say he's not played a lot recently."

The former Fulham and England Under-21 international will go straight into the Tigers squad for their Championship fixture against Barnsley on Saturday.

Pearson told BBC Radio Humberside: "I've worked with him before, three years ago in the England Under-21 side at the European Championships, so I know quite a bit about him."

Rosenior has played in more than 200 league games in his career so far, and spent most of last season on loan at Ipswich Town.

He began his career at Bristol City, and helped them win the LDV Vans Trophy in 2003, before moving to Premier League side Fulham later that year.
