Bullard was named Premier League player of the month for November
Hull City midfielder Jimmy Bullard will be sidelined for six to eight weeks with an unspecified knee injury.
Bullard had a scan on his left knee on Monday night but Hull have not revealed the exact nature of the injury.
The 31-year-old was hurt when he landed awkwardly after a tackle 19 minutes into in Saturday's loss to Aston Villa.
He missed nine months earlier this year with an injury to his other knee but on his return was voted the Premier League player of the month for November.
Following Saturday's match, Tigers' assistant boss Brian Horton said Bullard had been playing "brilliantly" since he returned in October from his long-term lay-off.
"He has been such an influence and just fell awkwardly," added Horton.
Bullard was a record £5m signing from Fulham in January but damaged his knee ligaments 37 minutes into his debut, against West Ham, before undergoing surgery in the United States.
