Hull's Bullard wins monthly award

Bullard cost a club record 5m from Premier League rivals Fulham

Hull's Jimmy Bullard has been rewarded for his fine form since returning from injury by earning the Premier League's player of the month award for November.

The 31-year-old midfielder's comeback after nine months on the sidelines has helped spark an upturn in the Tigers' fortunes with a four-game unbeaten run.

The former Fulham player had a key role in a win against Stoke, plus draws with West Ham and Manchester City.

But Hull boss Phil Brown was pipped to the manager award by Carlo Ancelotti.

Bullard scored twice in November, both from the penalty spot against West Ham and City.

But it was his fierce shot which created the opening for Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink to hit the winner against Stoke which really kick-started the club's revival and has since helped Brown's side pull away from the relegation zone.

Bullard also captured the imagination with his recreation of Brown's infamous Eastlands half-time team talk of last season after hitting the leveller against Mark Hughes' side.
