Hull's Mouyokolo prepared to wait

Hull City's new signing Steven Mouyokolo admits he will have to be patient to earn a first-team call-up.

The defender, 22, signed on a four-year deal worth £1.8m from Boulogne in January but stayed with the French side until the end of the season.

"I'm a young player, a new player, of course I'll have to wait," he told BBC Radio Humberside from the club's training camp in the Italian Alps.

"I have to watch, learn and listen to the coach."

He added: "It's a different mentality, a different game but I'm passionate to work. I need to do a good pre-season and when the coach calls me I'll be ready."

Mouyokolo also added that he is finding the training a lot tougher than anything he has been used to in the past.

"The pre-season training is very hard, we start at 7am, that's the first time I've done that," he said.

The defender also admits he always dreamed of a move to England and has been working hard off the field to make sure he learns the language to ease his way into English football.

"Since January I've been practicing, I've tried to learn the good verbs. My sister has lived in London for 10 years so I had my summer holidays there and that helps."
