Hull close on international trio

Brazilian Geovanni is the Tigers top target

Newly-promoted Hull City are closing in on a trio of international players, reports BBC Radio Humberside.

The Tigers have held talks with Brazilian international Geovanni, who left Manchester City recently.

City are also understood to be speaking to Dutch midfielder George Boateng about a move from Middlesbrough.

And their chances of signing Bernard Mendy have improved and they are set to beat Sampdoria and Werder Bremen to the French international's signature.

Sources within the club have revealed that Tigers boss Phil Brown has flown to Holland to talk to Boateng with a view to signing him from Boro.

The talks to bring Geovanni and ex-Bolton player Mendy to the KC Stadium are at an advanced stage and they could both join the club at the pre-season training camp in the Italian Alps by the weekend.
