Hull City winger Stuart Elliott has rejected an offer to join League Two promotion-chasers Darlington.

The two clubs agreed a fee but the Northern Ireland international opted against a switch to the Quakers.

"Stuart Elliott has turned down a move citing the distance and travelling as one of the main reasons," Tigers boss Phil Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.

The 29-year-old snubbed an offer from League One side Southend on similar grounds earlier this season.

Elliott has made over 150 appearances for Hull since joining from Motherwell for 200,000 in 2002 and his contract is set to expire during the summer.

Meanwhile, Tigers boss Brown also confirmed that he has fielded loan enquiries for striker Michael Bridges.
