Newly-promoted Hull City have confirmed their capture of Southend United defender Leon Cort.

Cort has agreed a two-year deal with the Tigers and will complete his move from Roots Hall on 1 July.

"Hull City are an ambitious club with a good manager and a tremendous stadium and I just wanted to be part of it," Cort told Hull's website.

The 24-year-old central defender started over 150 games in a three-year stay at Southend.

Tigers boss Peter Taylor admitted his interest in Cort and Shrimpers team-mate Kevin Maher last month.
