Hull get a Branch
Hull City have signed Wolves striker Michael Branch on a month's loan in a bid to kick-start their season.

The Tigers have won just two of their first 11 games and boss Jan Molby is keen to increase their output of 14 goals.

Branch has not played in the Wolves first team this season and is on the transfer-list at Molineux.

The 23-year-old hopes to get his own career back on track by helping Hull up the Third Division table.

"Michael's opportunities have been limited at Wolves," their chief executive Jez Moxey told the club's website.

"But now, he will have the chance to play first-team football and stake a claim for a contract."

Branch joined Wolves from Everton for 500,000 in January 2000, following a loan spell from the Premiership side.

He has scored four times in nine games during his loan stay but has managed just six more since making the move permanent.

Branch made a handful of appearances last season before going on loan to Reading for a month.
