Huddersfield seal Rhodes switch

Huddersfield Town have signed Ipswich Town striker Jordan Rhodes on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Rhodes, 19, scored seven goals in 14 appearances for Brentford last season during a loan spell, helping them to the League Two title.

Terriers manager Lee Clark told the club website: "His goal ratio in the games he has played and the minutes he's been on the pitch is very good.

"He has a very good touch and works extremely hard."

Clark added: "I couldn't be more happy with the four strikers I've got now. They all have different qualities and I believe that all four can score in this division."

The move to Huddersfield means a return to Yorkshire for Rhodes, who joined Ipswich's academy from Barnsley.

Earlier in the week Clark had confirmed that he had been given the green-light by chairman Dean Hoyle to chase down his final targets.

Clark told BBC Radio Leeds: "We'd like to bring in two or three more players before the start of the season, so if that can happen I'd be delighted.

"If it doesn't, I'd be more than happy to go with the squad we've already got.

"When players come in, other players will have to leave because their first-team chances will be limited.

"So there could be another one or two players leaving the club before the start of the season too."

Rhodes becomes Town's sixth summer signing joining Lee Peltier, Peter Clarke, Theo Robinson, Robbie Simpson and Antony Kay in Clark's new look Terriers side.
