Ireland U21 international Collins came through the Terriers' academy
Huddersfield Town midfielder Michael Collins has extended his contract at the club until 2012.
The 23-year-old scored 10 goals last season, including a dramatic late winner at local rivals Leeds United.
Boss Lee Clark told the club website: "Michael has the whole package. He is always looking to improve.
"That fits perfectly with my strategy. I want young, hungry players who are always looking to get better and progress up the League."
Clark added: "He also has a unique habit for a central midfield player - he scores goals regularly."
The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international joins Alex Smithies, James Berrett, and brothers Nathan and Tom Clarke in securing new deals with the club.
