Terriers allow quartet to leave

Luke Beckett
Beckett scored 23 league goals in 78 starts for Huddersfield

Huddersfield midfielder Michael Flynn, striker Tom Denton and goalkeeper Simon Eastwood have all gone out on loan, while Luke Beckett has left the club.

Flynn has joined League Two outfit Darlington for a month while Denton and Eastwood have joined Blue Square Premier side Woking, also for a month.

Meanwhile striker Beckett has had his contract paid up by mutual consent.

The 32-year-old wanted a move for personal reasons, and has signed for Blue Square North Gainsborough Trinity.

Beckett was top-scorer at the Galpharm Stadium for the past two seasons, but has played just three times this season.

I've had two and a half happy years here, but my football has been up and down

Former Huddersfield striker Luke Beckett
He was contracted until the summer of 2009 but requested a move to get more first-team football.

Beckett told the club's official website: "It's a good move for the club and a good move for me.

"I've been a bit disgruntled with the situation for a while and I've been trying to get away on loan, but nothing has really come up.

"I actually spoke to Gerry [Murphy] when he took over from Andy Ritchie at the end of last season, but I decided to give it one more year in football.

"Stan [Ternent] then came in and tried to sort out a move to Bradford for me, but I think they always wanted Michael Boulding as first choice.

"I've had two and a half happy years here, but my football has been up and down."

It's been left to me to decide if we need to bring anyone in or who could go out on loan and I have made those decisions

Huddersfield caretaker manager Gerry Murphy

Of Flynn's move, Terriers caretaker manager Gerry Murphy said: "Michael has been injured recently and this is an ideal opportunity for him to get some games under his belt.

"Darlington enquired about him and we felt that it was a great opportunity for him to go up there and get match fit again."

On Denton and Eastwood's loan move to Woking, Murphy commented: "This move gives them both a great opportunity to play first-team football at a very good level and I think it will be very good for their development as footballers.

"It's been left to me to decide if we need to bring anyone in or who could go out on loan and I have made those decisions. The lads have gone for positive reasons."
