Okay pleased to be back at Histon

Returning Histon favourite Erkan Okay has said he will be doing all he can to impress after being given a second chance at the club.

The 24-year-old midfielder is back at the Glass World on non-contract terms after just nine months away.

He left Histon after being convicted of assaulting a police officer.

Okay told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "Nothing is sorted out as yet, but they've listened to me, given me a chance and I'm aiming to take it."

The Stutes have taken a number of players on trial in recent weeks with former Weymouth striker Pierre Joseph-Dubois also agreeing non-contract terms.

Okay originally joined Histon in 2004 and played a key part in helping the club into the Blue Square Premier in 2007.

He left the club in January and subsequently joined Chelmsford but broke his leg and was released over the summer.

"I'm not going to be here to make up the numbers, I'll be aiming to cement my place in the side," Okay added.

"I know I'm a capable player, I had five good years and Histon and I've definitely got more to give."
