Histon first-team coach John Beck has insisted that his future at the Blue Square Premier club is not in doubt.

Beck did not travel to Saturday's game at Chester, with boss Steve Fallon revealing it was his decision not to have his assistant at the game.

The Stutes lost 2-0, also losing 2-0 at Crawley on Tuesday, and lie 18th.

Beck told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I am very happy with Histon and I have been out scouting to try to strengthen the squad."

The former Cambridge and Preston boss has played a vital role in club's recent success, working alongside Fallon.

He has been linked with a move to join Gareth Ainsworth at Lincoln City should the QPR midfielder be appointed as successor to Peter Jackson, but Beck denies there is any substance to the reports.

Histon chairman Gareth Baldwin has released a statement warning fans not to expect any comment from the club in the immediate future.

A further statement will be made within the next 14 days.

Meanwhile, Histon have allowed striker Kieran Leabon to join Bury Town on a month's loan.

Leabon only signed a one-year deal with the Stutes over the summer, but has struggled to settle at the Glass World.
