Fallon impressed by Histon fight

Histon boss Steve Fallon has said his side battled well in difficult conditions to claim a 2-2 draw at Forest Green on Tuesday night.

Late goals from Nat Knight-Percival and Josh Simpson saved the Stutes a point at a snowy New Lawn.

Fallon told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "The lads showed yet again that they have a lot of fight.

"This is definitely a point gained rather than two lost, there was a lot of good play."

Histon had played only two league matches in 2009 prior to the clash in Gloucestershire.

They suffered a 2-0 defeat at Kidderminster last time out, so Fallon was pleased to stop the rot.

"You could say we're in the middle of a little bit of dickey spell, but we're coming through it, we're still second with a game in hand, he said.

"To pick up a point away at Forest Green is a good result."

Fallon handed a debut to new man Lee Roache as a second-half substitute in place of fellow January signing Adam Bygrave.

The Stutes boss is confident his side has what it takes to maintain their promotion push and expects them to kick on in the coming weeks.

"We've got a couple of home games coming up and that's what will decide the play-off race, picking up points at home," he said.
