Hibs have Liam Miller's red card reduced to a caution

Kilmarnock v Hibernian

Highlights - Kilmarnock 2-1 Hibernian

Hibernian's appeal against the red card shown to Liam Miller in their defeat by Kilmarnock has resulted in the Irishman being given a yellow card instead.

After a lengthy delay, Miller was shown a straight red by referee Craig Thomson for kicking the heels of Conor Sammon on the edge of the penalty box.

But the Scottish Football Association's disciplinary department met on Wednesday and reduced his punishment.

Miller will now be free from suspension to face Aberdeen on Boxing Day.

Thomson had consulted with an assistant before awarding a free-kick to Kilmarnock right on the cusp of the penalty area and was called over by the fourth official for further words before sending Miller off on 80 minutes, a decision that surprised Hibs manager Colin Calderwood.
