Gow has struggled to get first-team football since leaving Falkirk
Hibernian have signed Alan Gow on loan from Plymouth Argyle.
The 27-year-old worked under Hibs boss John Hughes at Falkirk before leaving to join Rangers in the summer of 2007.
Gow told Hibs' website: "I'm delighted to be joining Hibernian to the end of the season and looking forward to working with John Hughes again.
"I know how the gaffer likes to play the game and how well the team are performing at the moment, so I can't wait to meet the boys."
Gow appeared only twice for Rangers and spent time on loan at Norwich City and Blackpool before making a permanent move to Plymouth last year.
Alan adds more real quality to the squad and will hopefully raise the bar again in terms of what we are trying to achieve

But he has failed to make an impact at Home Park and has scored just twice in his time there.
Hearts and Aberdeen have also been linked with a move, but he has instead teamed up again with Hughes once more.
Hughes said: "Alan is a player I admire tremendously and I know what he's all about from our time together at Falkirk.
"The supporters have been fantastic since I've been at the club and it's always good to give them a lift at this time of year, so I'm delighted to get Alan to Hibernian for the rest of the campaign.
"He adds more real quality to the squad and will hopefully raise the bar again in terms of what we are trying to achieve."
Gow started his career at Clydebank in 2000, before joining Airdrie in 2002, where he remained for three years.
He then shot to prominence after joining up with Hughes at Falkirk, becoming one of the Bairns' most influential players, making 82 appearances and scoring 18 goals.
By signing for Hibs, Gow became the third player to exit Plymouth for the Scottish Premier League on transfer deadline day.
Striker Steve MacLean and the versatile Jim Paterson joined Aberdeen on loan.
