Nish aims to build Hibs momentum

Hibs striker Colin Nish
Nish has scored six Premier League goals this season

Hibs striker Colin Nish insists Sunday's win over Celtic will mean nothing if a home victory over Hamilton does not follow this weekend.

"It was definitely a massive result for us and means we have a four-game undefeated run now," Nish, who scored in the 2-0 win, told the club website.

"We have taken eight points from our last 12, so things are looking good just at present.

"But there's no point beating Celtic if we are not going to take it forward."

Nish had to make do with a place on the bench for three matches prior to Sunday, earning a recall after netting the equaliser at Falkirk in the previous SPL outing.

Back-to-back goals should keep him in the starting line-up but the former Kilmarnock forward knows there is fierce competition for places up front at Easter Road.

"It has been frustrating to have been on the bench in recent weeks and the only way to ensure that you are not back there the next week is to contribute significantly when you do get on," he said.

"Luckily, I did that last weekend against Falkirk and earned my place in the side.

"I was delighted to start against Celtic and to score again. Hopefully my performance will keep me in the team for a wee bit longer."

Hamilton will be licking their wounds after a 7-1 trouncing at Ibrox on Saturday.

And Hibs will recall their November loss to Inverness at Easter Road the weekend following the Highlanders' 5-0 hammering by Rangers.
