Hibernian striker Derek Riordan aims to play against Dundee United on Saturday to begin his second spell at the club.

The 25-year-old re-signed from Celtic in the summer but has been struggling with a groin strain.

Hibs manager Mixu Paatelainen told the club website that Riordan should be fit in time for the match at Easter Road.

"He does have a slight groin niggle at the moment," said Paatelainen. "He had that when he came here but the doctors said it's a niggle that will go away."

Meanwhile, Hibernian's other new signing defender Souleymane Bamba could also be set to make his debut at Easter Road this weekend.

The 23-year-old former Paris St Germain defender recently joined Hibs on a three-year contract from Dunfermline for an undisclosed fee.
