Paatelainen praised his side after they moved up to third in the table

Hibernian manager Mixu Paatelainen hailed goalscorer Steven Fletcher after the 2-0 victory over Kilmarnock.

"Fletcher's a goalscorer and a tremendous striker. Give him a chance in the box and he's likely to bury it," he told BBC Sport.

"He scored again today which is fantastic. Who knows how long we'll be in third spot, we'll try to stay there.

"The boys have done really well and are showing determination to keep clean sheets and score goals."

Fletcher's fine finish in the 73rd minute sealed the points at Easter Road after Filipe Morais's first-half strike.

Scotland manager George Burley names his squad on Monday for the forthcoming friendly against Croatia and Paatelainen, a former Finland international, believes the Fletcher should be included.

He added: "I hope he has done enough to be in the squad, he has scored a few goals and looks very lively. I think he deserves to be in the squad."
