Craig cagey on Hibernian future

Craig selected a side that managed a 1-1 draw at Celtic Park

Assistant manager Tommy Craig was pleased with Hibs' draw at Celtic but would not be drawn on his own future.

Craig was in charge following the surprise resignation of John Collins.

But, when asked if he wanted the job, he would only say: "The chairman spoke to me and asked me to take the team over the festive period. Full stop.

"If the job ever came up it would be discourteous not to speak to anyone. My CV is in, it's 14 months long. They know me and they know what I can do."

Hibs were in front at Celtic thanks to David Murphy's cracking goal after 20 minutes.

However, after long spells of pressure, Celtic squared the game with a Jiri Jarosik volley on 78 minutes.

"I was delighted with some of our football," said Craig.

"I just wish we could have played higher up the pitch in the second half because I think we could have caused them some more problems.

"You've got to be brave to pass the ball at Celtic Park and today I had 14 brave players."

Prior to the match, Hibernian chairman Rod Petrie insisted he has not yet sounded out contenders to succeed Collins.

The resignation on Thursday caught Petrie and all at Easter Road by surprise.

And Petrie told BBC Sport: "We haven't really begun a process yet.

"The work will have to start now."

"I feel for the supporters, I feel for a number of players and coaches who have come to the club who were following the vision that John had created.

"But he's decided it's not for him, life moves on."
