Hibernian are to sign Ipswich Town midfielder Antonio Murray.

And the English Championship club have announced that the Scottish Premier League outfit are to take over the remainder of the player's contract.

The Cambridge-born midfielder's deal with Ipswich was due to run out at the end of the season.

Hibs manager Tony Mowbray had first-hand experience of Murray as he was first-team coach at Ipswich before taking over at Easter Road.

The midfielder will also be re-united with Sam Morrow, who progressed through the Academy team alongside Murray at Portman Road.

Murray has been dogged by injuries, limiting his chances of first-team football at Portman Road.

Mowbray told the Edinburgh Evening News: "He hasn't progressed as much as he probably should have for a lad with his talent."
