Gary Caldwell has signed a new two-year deal with Hibs.

The defender, who moved to Easter Road on a short-term contract in January from Newcastle, had recently been on trial with Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem.

But Hibs manager Tony Mowbray was keen to keep the player and talks this week have produced a successful outcome.

"I am delighted that he has agreed to sign the deal, I appreciate qualities he brings, he's a good professional," Mowbray told the Hibs website.
