Hearts' Jefferies feels Inverness were lucky to draw

Hearts manager Jim Jefferies feels Inverness were lucky to leave Tynecastle with a point following the draw between the two sides.

Grant Munro's opener for the Highlanders was cancelled out by Kevin Kyle's penalty for the hosts.

"They got all the luck going today, nothing fell for us," Jefferies said.

"The effort and football we played, we were outstanding in the second half. As a manager, you can't be anything but happy with your team today."

Inverness stopped Hearts recording a seventh straight Scottish Premier League win by completing 2010 unbeaten on the road in league football.

"Terry (Butcher) knows his team got a going over in the second half but they got away with it," added Jefferies.

"When you're on a run like they are away from home, you get a wee bit of a break along the way - they certainly got it today.

"We wanted to keep our winning run going and they did everything. Overall, the passing and movement was great.

"The only disappointment for me today was that we gave away a free header, which you can't give to people like Grant Munro.

"We more than made up for that with the effort and the chances we created."

David Templeton was one of the Hearts players to come close to scoring a winner and as well as being praised by his own manager, the SPL's November young player of the month caught the eye of Butcher.

"The lad Templeton - wow, he's something special," said the Inverness manager. "I would pay money to watch him and he was on the other team.

"He's just incredible, full of confidence. He's one of these unique players that pops up every now and then and people liken him to Davie Cooper and lots of other players as well.

"He's going to be a special talent. I said to him coming off the pitch, 'you just keep that going, who knows where you could end up'. Hopefully out of Scotland and away from Inverness Caley Thistle!"
