Jefferies happy with Hearts heirarchy

Hearts manager Jim Jefferies has revealed that the club owner Vladimir Romanov is happy with his performance.

Jefferies returned for his second spell in charge at Tynecastle in January, after succeeding Csaba Laszlo.

And the 59-year-old said he had a great relationship with Hearts' sporting director Alex Metlitski.

"I've spoken to Mr Romanov through Alex. The feedback I'm getting is he's very happy the way things are going. I intend to keep him a happy man."

Jefferies, a former captain of the Edinburgh side, was at the Tynecastle helm between 1995 and 2000.

He left Kilmarnock to rejoin the Jambos, who are currently in sixth spot in the SPL, eight points behind Motherwell with a game in hand.

"I get on great with Alex and director Sergeyjus Fedotovas and speak to both of them regularly," Jefferies said.

"What happened in the past has nothing to do with me. Alex and I, in particular, are on the same wavelength when we are discussing certain situations.

"He is at training every day, is a former player and played international football for Belarus. The feedback I am getting is that Mr Romanov is very happy the way things are going and I intend to keep him a happy man."

Jefferies's predecessor was unable to bolster his attacking options with new signings in the January transfer window, despite numerous appeals to Romanov for funds.

However, Jefferies said: "I have worked for a few owners over the years and they are all different in the way they work.

"We both want the same for the club and that is to bring success to Tynecastle."
