Hearts goalkeeper Marian Kello has signed a new one-year contract extension with the Edinburgh club.

The Slovakian faces a three-way fight for the number one jersey at Tynecastle with Janos Balogh and Jamie MacDonald.

"I'm happy Marian's contract has been resolved and he has the possibility to concentrate on his job," Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo told his club website.

Hearts have also taken Portuguese pair Joao Moreira and Zezinando Odelfrides Gomes Correia on trial.

Former Valencia striker Moreira, 23, currently plays for Beira Mar and spent a loan spell at Rayo Vallecano.

Twenty-two-year-old midfielder Correia has represented his country at U-19 level and played for Sporting Clube de Portugal.

Kello joined Hearts from FBK Kaunas in August 2008 and Lazlo said he was happy with his goalkeeping options.

"We have the same situation like last year, with three good goalkeepers who we think will give good competition," he said.

The Hearts manager added that young keeper Mark Ridgers had a bright future at Tynecastle.
