Laszlo to assess tour trialists

Hearts left for their German training camp without the injured David Templeton but with manager Csaba Laszlo targeting three new signings.

Lithuanian midfielders Marius Cinikas and Vytautas Luksa will join striker David Witteveen on trial in Germany.

Cinikas, a 23-year-old is presently with Lithuanian club FK Silute, while Luksa, 24, is with MTZ Ripo in Belarus.

The 24-year-old Witteveen's contract has expired with Red Bull Salzburg after a season on loan to WAC St Andra.

It is being suggested that a number of clubs are interested in the striker and Hearts may need to pay a small development fee as he has come through Salzburg's youth academy.

Laszlo thought he was a few players short of having a squad he would be happy to lead into the forthcoming Scottish Premier League and Europa League campaigns.

"After the training, we will close the squad and come back with it complete," he told BBC Scotland as Hearts headed out for four games in six days in Germany.

"I hope I will have three new players."

Laszlo wants Driver to stay

Laszlo expects also to have held on to Andrew Driver, despite a fresh approach from Burnley for the England Under-21 winger.

Hearts have already added three players to their squad this summer - former Inverness Caley Thistle midfielder Ian Black, former Tenerife winger Suso and Lech Poznan defender Dawid Kucharski.

Polish midfielder Adrian Mrowiec and Slovakian goalkeeper Marian Kello could sign new contracts with Hearts despite suggesting they would leave the club.

However, Jamie Mole, who was on loan to Dunfermline last season, and fellow striker Mike Tullberg, who is awaiting news of whether his loan from Regina is to be extended, have not travelled to Barsinghausen.

Also missing the trip is Templeton, the 20-year-old who made his first-team debut last season, is being assessed by medical staff for a suspected broken foot picked up in training.
