Hearts have signed Chilean striker Mauricio Pinilla on a one-year loan deal from Sporting Lisbon.
Pinilla shows off his new colours
He impressed on trial with Hearts, who hope he will improve their goalscoring in the SPL and Champions League.
The 22-year-old signed for Sporting two years ago but spent last season on loan at Racing Santander.
"I know Scottish football is very strong and competitive, but I don't think I will have a problem trying to adapt to it," he said.
"The main thing is to try and get through all the stages in the European competition and I hope I can contribute to that."
Hearts head coach Valdas Ivanauskas said with hard work, Pinilla could become a regular in the first team.
"We have to get him integrated in the team and he has a good chance to play, but has to work hard for his place in the team," he added.
"He has quality, but he must try in training and in games. We have a lot of strikers and we have quality strikers, but the season is very long and we need options.
"We had five strikers last season, but, during the winter, we had just two fit in Calum Elliot and Michal Pospisil."
