Graham Rix hit out at Julien Brellier after the midfielder was sent off for pushing Dundee United's David McCracken during Hearts' 1-1 draw on Tuesday.
Brellier reacted angrily as United's Barry Robson was shown a red card for a bad tackle on Steven Pressley.
"I'm very disappointed with Julien Brellier," said Hearts' head coach.
"Any advantage we had disappeared. But, especially with everything that's been happening, I have to be happy with the point as it's a tough place to play."
