Hartlepool United caretaker boss Mick Wadsworth has offered his support to the appointment of MK Dons boss Karl Robinson ahead of Saturday's meeting.

Robinson is the youngest boss in the Football League at the age of 29, and Wadsworth has backed the former Liverpool academy coach in his role.

"I've always been a big advocate of giving young coaches a chance," Wadsworth told BBC Tees.

"It's a brave decision, but it's nice to see a him given the opportunity."

Robinson's enjoyed coaching roles at Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers before his permanent appointment at Stadium:MK this summer.

Meanwhile Wadsworth, like Robinson, enjoyed a playing career spent largely in non-league, before his first coaching post at Matlock Town prompted a move to working with the Football Association.

Since that time he has held 10 managerial posts, including Carlisle, Gretna and Beira Mar in Portugal, as well as assistant manager roles at Norwich City, Southampton, Shrewsbury and Newcastle United.
