Turner delight at Flinders form

Flinders has kept six clean sheets for Pools this season

Hartlepool director of sport Chris Turner feels goalkeeper Scott Flinders has hit form after a fine display in Saturday's 2-0 win at Swindon.

Flinders, 23, has been ever-present this season and Turner, a former goalkeeper himself, is pleased with the former Crystal Palace custodian.

"He's performed consistently from day one," he told BBC Tees.

"He hung onto strikes. His form is how you want your goalkeeper to be, commanding and steady."

Flinders was a Turner summer signing, agreeing free-transfer terms following his release by Championship side Palace.

The win against Swindon at the County Ground was Pools' third away three-pointer in the league this season, in contrast to just one victory at home.

And Turner is concerned by the trend, particularly with the visit of strugglers Tranmere to Victoria Park on Saturday.

"We have got to do it at home, there's no hiding that we have won more points away than at home," he said.

"Once that home form turns, or results start to come at home, then I think we'll be in business."
