Hamilton have appointed Albion Rovers manager John McCormack as assistant to Billy Reid as the club prepare for life in the Scottish Premier League.

McCormack, former manager of Dundee, Queen's Park and Morton, will join the club for the start of pre-season training on Monday.

Stuart Taylor will combine playing with first team coach duties, as well as looking after the Under-19 side.

Rovers will now look to appoint a new coach for the Division Three campaign.

"I'm delighted to be in the Premier League - especially with a team like Hamilton," said McCormack.

"The call came this week and my first thought was that Hamilton were cancelling the friendly Albion Rovers had arranged!

"But I'm delighted to have even been considered, and the opportunity to be involved in the SPL as a coach is fantastic.

"Billy said he'd done a lot of homework on me, wanted to use my experience and that I'd be good for him."
