Grimsby Town midfielder Michael Leary has said he wants to extend his stay with the club.

The 26-year-old is out of contract in the summer, with contract talks on hold until a new manager is appointed.

Leary told BBC Radio Humberside: "I discussed it a little with the previous manager, but at the moment we don't know who is going to come in.

"I'm really happy here, I just want to get Grimsby back in the Football League," he added.

"I'm settled here, I've got family here and I used to support Grimsby as a kid."

The former Luton trainee signed for Grimsby in July 2009, and has started every game since caretaker manager Dave Moore stepped in following last month's sacking of Neil Woods.

He has also had spells at Bristol Rovers, Walsall, Torquay United, Brentford and Barnet.
