Mariners continue squad rebuild

Mike Newell
Newell helped secure Grimsby's Football League survival last season

Grimsby Town Mike Newell is believed to be looking to make four or five more signings, reports BBC Radio Humberside.

Newell wants to operate with an 18-man squad next season and has already secured a permanent deal with experienced striker Barry Conlon.

The Mariners boss also remains hopeful of signing Peter Sweeney when the Leeds midfielder returns from holiday.

He has also confirmed that he will not be furthering his interest in Sheffield Wednesday winger Rocky Lekaj.
