Grimsby Town give Letheren trial

Grimsby Town

Grimsby Town have given a trial to 21-year-old Barnsley keeper Kyle Letheren.

The Wales Under-21 international had a loan spell with Doncaster earlier in the season but did not make any appearances for the Championship side.

He signed for Barnsley in August 2006 but has only featured once in the first team, as a substitute against Blackpool in 2008.

Letheren, the son of former Leeds stopper Glan, will train with the Mariners for several weeks.
