Cooke's permanent deal
Grimsby Town have completed a deal to take Manchester City winger Terry Cooke to Blundell Park on a permanent basis. Cooke joined City from Manchester United for £100,000 in April, 1999 following a successful loan spell at Maine Road. However, he started just 13 League games following his signing and after loan spells with Wigan and Sheffield Wednesday joined Grimsby for a temporary stay at the end of last season. The 25-year-old played his part in helping Town beat the drop and has now agreed to join the Mariners on a longer-term contract. "We have already seen enough of Terry to know how capable he is and we are delighted he has agreed to come to Blundell Park. "He has the pedigree and class we need for success in Division One," manager Paul Groves told the club's website.
