Groves saves reserves
Grimsby Town have scrapped plans to shelve their reserve side after negotiations with player-manager Paul Groves.
The club made the decision to abandon their second string last week, but Groves talked them round to a compromise which will keep the reserves going. "I am delighted the club has been able to find the funds for the reserve team," Groves told the club's official website. "Reserve football plays a vital role at this club and I felt it was imperative every effort should be made to continue. "Obviously it was a decision based on limited finance, but we have shifted one or two things about to accommodate a second-string team."
